Connect Cord Care Tips
We use high quality gold plated beads so you can love your Connect Cord for years to come. All gold plate however can be sensitive and impacted by certain practices and daily habits. Here are some ways to keep your gold plating its brightest and shiniest:
Moisture: Remove gold plated Connect Cords before washing your hands, swimming, bathing, exercising or exposing to heat like in a sauna or steam room. The moisture creates a chemical reaction that can tarnish the gold plating.
Lotions: Put on gold plated Connect Cords after lotions have been absorbed as they can blemish your bracelet.
Fragrances: Do not spray perfume or cologne on your gold plated Connect Cords. If possible spray/roll perfume or cologne on your body and allow to dry down before you put on your bracelet.
Cleaning & Buffing: Infrequently, clean your gold plated Connect Cord with a few drops of mild dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse the Connect Cord and allow it to air dry. Then gently buff it with a soft microfiber cloth. Over time, oil can make the gold plating flake off but buffing can help minimize those harmful oils.
Storage: Keep gold plated jewelry in a plastic bag – When not using your gold plated jewelry, put it in a plastic bag, remove the excess air by squeezing it, and seal it. The lack of oxygen in the bag will help keep the gold plated jewelry bright and shiny.
